I am a senior who not only likes  to write and play sports but who loves to be involved with my community. I have volunteered for different orgnizations since I was seven years old. My volunteer experience at Beleve in Tomorrow and  the University of Maryland Medical Center, Shock and Trauma  Unit, helped with my research for my book. My work as a counselor for the St. Vincent de Paul summer camp for homeless children lead to establishing my own non-profit organization, "Summer Stars." This experience also gave me an idea I used in my book. I have included below links to websites for two organizations that need your support. Believe in Tomorrow provides lodging for familiies that have seriously ill children being treated at the hospital and helps them to cope with this stressful time. St. Vincent de Paul helps children from disadvantaged backgrounds catch-up academicallty and  to have a summer place where they are cared about, loved, and mentored.
